Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 21, 2026. Kakulu is owned and operated by Picmate LLC. This policy explains how the Kakulu iOS app and getkakulu.com handle information.

Kakulu is designed for families and does not require an account. We do not ask children to provide an email address, home address, precise location, photos, contacts, or payment information in the app.

We do not sell personal information, serve third-party advertising, or use information for cross-app tracking or behavioral advertising.

Information we handle

In the Kakulu app, a child profile name and gender preference may be entered by a parent or caregiver. Those details are stored only on the device and are not sent to Picmate LLC. Kakulu uses Google Firebase to deliver story metadata, illustrations, audio, notifications, and reliability services. Firebase may process an app-installation identifier, device and app information, IP or network information, crash and diagnostic data, and a notification token if notifications are enabled. Apple processes App Store purchases; Picmate LLC does not receive payment-card details. On getkakulu.com, we receive the name, email address, and message you choose to submit through our contact form, and an email address if you request updates.

How we use information

We use information only to deliver and improve stories and media, maintain app security and reliability, diagnose crashes, manage subscriptions, send notifications a parent or caregiver has permitted, respond to support requests, and operate the website. We do not use a child’s profile name or gender for advertising or analytics.

You can use the app without creating an account. You may decline notifications through iOS Settings. Website contact and update fields are optional. To request access, correction, or deletion of information submitted through the website, email support@picmatehq.com.

Children’s privacy and your rights

Kakulu is intended to be used by children with a parent or caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children. If you believe a child sent us personal information through the website or a support channel, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

• Restrict or object to processing where applicable.

• Request a portable copy where applicable.

• Withdraw consent where processing depends on consent.

• Disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings.

Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where Apple and Google operate, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.

Service providers

We use Apple for purchases and notification delivery, and Google Firebase for content delivery, app reliability, crash diagnostics, installation services, and notifications. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not permit Kakulu information to be used for third-party advertising.

Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards. Local profile preferences remain on the device until removed or the app’s data is erased. Support messages and technical records are retained only as needed for support, security, legal obligations, and service operations. No system is completely secure.

When we disclose information

We may disclose information if required by law, to protect users or the service, or as part of a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not sell or rent personal information.
